Cardinal joins online event against antisemitism
Cardinal Cupich joined Catholic, Jewish and civil leaders in an online event organized by the international Combat Antisemitism Movement Feb. 21 to celebrate the “heroic actions” of Bishop of Assisi Giuseppe Placido Nicolini in allowing Jews fleeing deportation during the Holocaust to be housed in his diocese.
Community must stand together to combat antisemitism
The key to combatting antisemitism is for all members of the community to speak up and stand together, according to “Stand Up Against Antisemitism,” a June 16 panel discussion hosted sponsored by the Highland Park Baha’i Community at the Highland Park Art Center.
Pope, bishops condemn shooting at synagogue, all 'acts of hate'
The U.S. Catholic bishops stand with "our brothers and sisters of the Jewish community," the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said Oct. 27 after a horrific shooting earlier that day in Pittsburgh at the Tree of Life Synagogue, described as a hub of Jewish life in that city.
