Resurrection Prep student training therapy dog for her school
Resurrection College Preparatory High School, 7500 W. Talcott Ave., has a new member of the student body who visits for a few hours each Friday morning to greet students and help alleviate their stress.
Therapy dog brings joy to students at St. Patrick High School
On Wednesday mornings, a four-legged member of the St. Patrick High School community greets students and staff with his tail wagging. His name is Patrick and he is the school’s therapy dog.

Local organizations using dogs to help students in their care
The power of dogs to help reduce stress and increase joy is being used to help young people at two local institutions — Loyola University Chicago and Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
Meet the new dog
There is a time and season for everything, and this week, for us, was time for a new dog. We had to put our old dog, Polly, to sleep after more than 11 years with us. By the next day, Teresa and Frank were looking at the websites for local animal shelters, scouting out likely prospects. Within a week, we went to a shelter, met one of the dogs they’d had their eye on, and brought her home.
