St. Moses the Black pantry expanding to meet increased need
Volunteers at St. Moses the Black Food Pantry assist people in need on April 16, 2025. Prior to December 2004, the pantry served 50 households a week in the Chatham, Greater Grand Crossing, Park Manor and Woodlawn neighborhoods. Now they provide fresh produce, meat and dry goods to over 700 households a week. Because of this growing need, the parish raised funds to move to a larger location in the former St. Dorothy School. Archdiocese remembers Pope Francis at cathedral Mass
Hundreds joined Cardinal Cupich as he presided over a memorial Mass for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis at Holy Name Cathedral on April 23, 2025. Pope Francis passed away on Monday, April 21 at the age of 88. Homeless, hungry focus of first ‘Carlo Fest’ event
Students in the religious education program at Blessed Carlo Acutis Parish in Chicago made Lunches for the Homeless on March 23, 2025, to kick off the start of parish celebrations leading up to the canonization of Carlo Acutis on April 27. First Communion students wrote a note that said “Jesus Loves You!” that was added to each lunch bag. The lunches were delivered to the Providence Soup Kitchen at St. Stanislaus Kostka. SPRED active at Shrine of Our Lady Guadalupe of Guadalupe
