Officer Ella French remembered at funeral, procession

Officer Ella French was remembered Aug. 19, 2021, during a funeral Mass at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel. French was fatally shot Aug. 7 and her partner was seriously wounded after they conducted a traffic stop in the West Englewood neighborhood. Following the funeral, a procession of more than 1,000 police vehicles led the hearse to the crematory.
