Guadalupe shrines hosts multicultural day for national pilgrimage
Hundreds of pilgrims gathered at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Des Plaines as the Archdiocese of Chicago welcomed the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage on June 27, 2024. The day featured multicultural celebrations in multiple languages from noon to 9 p.m., inviting faithful of all ethnic backgrounds to participate. Chicago Auxiliary Bishops Jeffrey Grob and Robert Lombardo, joined by clergy members, participated in events throughout the day ending with a final Mass celebrated by both bishops. The national pilgrimage is a two-month walking journey across the United States with four routes led by clergy and a small group of young adult Catholics converging at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis on July 17, 2024.
